So I started this little comic about a year ago, as a hobby.

Wait, let’s back up a little… First, I started a podcast with my buddy and brother from another mother Rob. Then the comic followed, and it was a lot of fun. Finally, in January 2009, it was actually started to gain a little momentum and popularity. Having a full time job as a systems administrator, and preparing for a wedding, and life itself, I naturally panicked and went back to only updating once a week, and the podcast died (mostly because I accidentally deleted the feed)

Well, a few weeks ago I lost my job, and I’ve had a lot of time to think since then. I want to be a cartoonist for a living. It’s what I’ve always wanted, and it’s time to chase down my dream and beat it into submission. Starting today, May 1st, 2009, I am embarking on a one year experiment to become a professional cartoonist, ending (hopefully) with a year one book and an appearance at a comic convention in 2010.

There’s a lot more details to come, and they’ll be revealed within the next few days, but for now, here’s the deal.

The podcast is back, re branded as the Trouble Ticket 2.0 Podcast! It’s a live show, and will hopefully be weekly, bi-weekly at the latest. You can find us on talkshoe, and I’ll update this post with all of the links tomorrow.

Next, the forums are back online. If you like the comic, or the podcast, or just want a place to come be a social dude or dudette, think about registering. It’s free, and only takes a second, and the benefits are awesome, because you get to talk to me! (I know, right!)

If you want to support the experiment, there’s a few things you can do. You can buy original art from my store, or t-shirts, which will be available by July (part of the experiment, details coming soon)

You can also vote for me at webcomic planet. See that little button on the left of the site? Click that, and you keep me on the front page if enough people vote, and it makes other people see my comic. It’s pretty cool, it helps, and best of all, it’s free.

If you really like a comic, pass it on to a friend, or subscribe to my mailing list, or best of all, digg the comic or submit it to another site like digg.

Look. I can’t promise a lot, but I can promise this. The comic is no longer a hobby for me. It’s going to be a full time job in addition to whatever full time job I land to pay the bills, and one day it will pay the bills. If you support me in this endeavor, I promise to give you quality content, five days a week, in the form of comics, a live podcast, forums, and blog posts (I know you missed them, and starting next week, they’re back!)

Anyway, there’s going to be more on this come Monday, but for now, I’ve been up for a long time working non stop to get the site ready and put up the new strip, so I’m going to go take a nap.

Thanks, and I hope you stick around
